Christiansburg, Va. (WDBJ) - In the bustling town of Christiansburg, a significant healthcare addition has been making waves. LewisGale Montgomery's newest freestanding emergency room has been witnessing an unprecedented level of activity since its November 1st opening, with over 1500 patients already being served. This state-of-the-art facility, located at 1145 West Main Street, operates round the clock, ensuring that medical assistance is always at hand.

Providing Immediate Emergency Care Close to Home

Healthcare Professionals at the Forefront

Sarah Garvin, one of the approximately two dozen healthcare professionals who have seamlessly transferred from the main LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, plays a crucial role. She emphasizes that despite the constant busyness and fully occupied rooms, her team is adept at getting patients in and out promptly. On average, they are seeing 30 to 50 people daily. "We are an emergency department, capable of handling anything that walks through our doors. We have witnessed some truly sick individuals who required admission, and we take great pride in providing them with the necessary care and getting them to the right place," Garvin states.

Meeting the Urgent Medical Needs of the Community

The primary objective behind opening this facility was to offer enhanced access to urgent medical services for the residents of the New River Valley. CEO Lauren Dudley highlights that based on the feedback received from patients, they are successfully fulfilling this need. "We are honored to be here and providing that essential emergency care. We are committed to being available whenever needed and have the necessary resources to continue delivering top-notch care," Dudley asserts. Additionally, Dudley mentions that they are prepared to expand further if the patient volume continues to rise. This shows their dedication to meeting the evolving healthcare demands of the community.
