Price's Ambition and Next Fight

Lauren Price, with a record of 7-0 and 1 knockout, has been on a rapid ascent since winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. In May this year, she easily defeated Jessica McCaskill to claim the WBA welterweight title. At 30 years old, her ambition to be the top dog at 147 pounds is evident. She firmly believes that the next fight she wants is against Natasha Jonas. "I want the Jonas fight next. If it was up to me, there would only be one female fight on this card, and it would be me and her. But there are politics and other reasons behind that," she told Sky Sports. She respects Jonas as a person and for what she has done for boxing in general, not just women's boxing. But with titles on both their belts, Price is focused on achieving her dreams and ambitions of becoming undisputed.

Jonas' Career Stage and Upcoming Fight

Natasha Jonas, at 40 years old, is clearly in the latter stages of her career. However, she remains an obvious top fighter at welterweight. She will be defending her IBF title against Ivana Habazin, a solid veteran who will also be putting her WBC belt on the line. The winner of this fight against Price could potentially achieve a three-belt unification, leaving only Mikaela Mayer and the IBF title as a potential roadblock. Jonas controversially beat Mayer by split decision earlier this year in Liverpool. Jonas will face Colombia's Bexcy Mateus on Saturday in Liverpool. Mateus has an undefeated record of 7-0 with 6 knockouts, but she is somewhat of an unknown quantity.
