Silent Hill 2 Remake players have been voicing their concerns about the persistent technical glitches that continue to plague the game even ten days after the PS5 Pro's release. Despite the numerous comments on its social media posts, neither the developer Bloober Team nor the publisher Konami has provided any formal word regarding a fix or its release timeline.

"Silent Hill 2 Remake: Technical Woes on PS5 Pro Demand Attention"

Player Frustration and Initial Impressions

In a reddit post titled "Konami is completely silent", a player shared a screenshot depicting several Silent Hill fans seeking an update. As the poster lamented, "Finished downloading, fired it up, bathroom cinematic plays through, walk out the bathroom and I immediately knew something was off without even seeing gameplay previously or even playing the game before this. That’s how bad this is." It's clear that the initial experience was far from satisfactory. Another player echoed these sentiments, stating, "I can’t even bring myself to play it in this state because it’s so distracting. I feel like even if I did play the game in this state it would just get worse throughout the game and I would be even more pissed off. So 70 bucks down the drain because it still hasn’t been fixed yet. I feel like I am gonna get to play this game after the holidays at the rate Konami and Bloober are going at this point…"

Player Demands for a Patch

One player expressed their frustration by saying, "I’d share some screenshots but it’s very poor on PS5 pro… drop the patch FFS @BlooberTeam". Another simply called for the studio to "provide a PSSR update and fix the flickering issue". There were also numerous requests like "When are we getting the Ps5 pro patch?" and "It would be better if you released a PS5 Pro patch." These demands highlight the players' eagerness for Konami to take action and address the issues.

Review and Sales Success

Despite the technical difficulties, Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 remake has achieved remarkable success. Since its global launch on 8th October, it has sold a total of 1m copies across both physical and digital media, likely making it the best-selling Silent Hill game ever. In Eurogamer's Silent Hill 2 Remake review, it was noted that "Against the odds, Bloober Team has delivered a remake that both expands Silent Hill 2 in just the right places, and gives careful attention to what it preserves," awarding the game an impressive five out of five stars.
