Kapustka's Impressive Coaching Pedigree
Prior to joining Dartmouth, Kapustka held several key roles at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC), where he served as the Director of Scouting and Assistant Coach. In this position, he was instrumental in the team's on-court success, contributing as the co-recruiting coordinator and leading the video and scouting aspects of the program. Kapustka's impact was evident in the Flames' offensive prowess, as the team ranked 62nd nationally in 3-point field goal percentage, 4th in the conference in 3-pointers made, and 5th in the conference in assists.Kapustka's coaching career also includes a stint at Rice University, where he initially served as a graduate manager before being promoted to the program's Director of Operations. During his time with the Owls, he played a pivotal role in the team's day-to-day operations, including travel logistics, budget management, and student-athlete development. Under his guidance, the Owls achieved remarkable success, winning 15 or more games in three consecutive seasons, a feat accomplished only three times in the program's 75-year history.Proven Track Record in Player Development
Kapustka's expertise extends beyond his administrative duties, as he has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to player development. At UIC, he was instrumental in the Flames' players achieving academic success, with the team setting school records in GPA. Additionally, his work with individual players led to standout performances, such as Toby Okani earning First-Team All-Defense honors and Filip Skobalj being named a First-Team Scholar-Athlete.Similarly, at Rice, Kapustka's focus on player development was evident in the team's offensive prowess. As the assistant offensive coordinator, the Owls ranked among the top teams in Conference USA in several key offensive categories, including assist percentage, total assists, assists per game, 3-pointers made, 3-pointers per game, 3-pointers attempted, and effective field goal percentage.Bringing a Wealth of Experience to Dartmouth
