The renowned Parisian fashion designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus, has been contemplating a strategic move into the beauty sector. Discussions with Spanish company Puig were initiated in 2021 but did not come to fruition. However, the visionary behind Jacquemus remains steadfast in his ambition to diversify. “We possess the unique world, lifestyle, and enchantment that can transform Jacquemus into a leading beauty brand,” he remarked recently, following the inauguration of the brand’s flagship store in New York.

Despite facing economic challenges in 2024, Jacquemus continues to thrive as an independent luxury brand. The company's revenue surged from €100 million in 2021 to €270 million in 2023. While the summer decline in tourism due to the Olympic Games impacted Avenue Montaigne, Jacquemus managed to maintain strong performance with its more accessible pricing. Looking ahead, the designer is seeking a minority investor to propel the brand further. “I cherish my independence and aim to hand over the business to my children, yet I need a suitable partner who will hold a minority stake to help us break through barriers,” he explained.

Jacquemus has consistently defied industry norms by growing independently since its inception in 2009. The brand has expanded globally, opening stores in major cities like Paris, New York, and London, with plans for Los Angeles and Miami on the horizon. Recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative designs, Jacquemus was honored with the prestigious Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres award in March 2024. This accolade underscores his significant contribution to fashion and culture, highlighting his ability to blend practicality with artistic vision.
