IGI is dedicated to ensuring that no one in the Island community goes hungry. Through the Island Food Pantry, they serve nutritious meals to over 5,000 registered clients. Their kitchen works tirelessly, preparing an astonishing 75,000 meals annually. These meals are distributed to elders, healthcare patients, the unhoused, and even to children when school meals are unavailable. This shows their unwavering commitment to providing sustenance to all.
In addition to pantry services, IGI donates a significant portion of what it grows on its farm. This not only helps in reducing food waste but also contributes to the local food supply. Moreover, they offer 25 families the opportunity to grow their own food in the community garden. This initiative empowers individuals and families, giving them a sense of self-sufficiency and connection to the land.
If you are moved by the work of IGI and wish to contribute, there is a simple way to do so. By visiting igimv.org/donate, you can make a difference.
