The Aeon case features an unconventional design that evokes the image of a futuristic egg, complete with angular, mosaic-mirrored glass panels. While visually striking, these unique aesthetics might not blend seamlessly into all environments. Furthermore, its substantial dimensions—840mm in length, 691mm in width, and 912mm in height—present a notable challenge for practical placement within typical setups.
An Elaborate Mechanism for Access and Installation
Beyond its eye-catching exterior, the Aeon incorporates an exceptionally elaborate opening system. Users must first activate the mechanism by scanning an RFID card against the case's base. Subsequently, the rear section of the chassis smoothly lowers into a flat position using a hydraulic system. This complex procedure is designed to facilitate hardware installation, yet it introduces numerous potential points of failure and adds a dramatic flair to an otherwise simple task. InWin's designation of this as a "Signature Chassis" underscores its unique and intricate nature.
Availability and Internal Configuration of the Aeon
The future retail availability of the Aeon remains uncertain. Historically, InWin has launched its distinctive cases, including other "signature products," in limited quantities. Should the Aeon follow this trend, prospective buyers might need to prepare for a significant investment. Internally, the case is highly versatile, supporting a wide range of motherboard sizes including E-ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX. It also provides eight PCIe expansion slots, accommodates graphics cards up to 360mm in length, and CPU coolers with heights up to 140mm. Users can choose between air and water cooling solutions, with provisions for multiple 140mm fans or a 360/420mm radiator, ensuring ample space for high-performance components.
