A new fighting game, "Invincible VS," is set to launch next month, but before its official debut, enthusiasts can engage in a complimentary preview. Developers Quarter Up and publisher Skybound Games recently unveiled details for an open beta event for "Invincible VS," scheduled to run from April 9th to April 11th. This exclusive access will be available to players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, offering an early glimpse into the intense tag-team combat experience.
The upcoming open beta will feature a roster of ten characters, drawn from the eighteen fighters slated for the final release. Among the playable characters are popular figures from the series, including Invincible, Atom Eve, and Omni-Man. Notably absent from the beta roster is Ella-Mental, a unique character created by Quarter Up for the game, who was first introduced at last year's Game Awards. Unlike the Viltrumites' direct combat style, Ella-Mental's abilities are rooted in elemental powers. Also confirmed for the beta is the newly revealed Allen the Alien, a character known for his increasing strength and ability to challenge Viltrumite adversaries, famously voiced by Seth Rogen in the Amazon Prime series.
Executive producer Mike Willette, speaking prior to the game's initial reveal, emphasized the team's commitment to developing a high-caliber, action-packed fighting game with a tag-team dynamic. He stated Quarter Up's objective is to empower every player to feel formidable and impactful within the game. The "Invincible VS" beta will commence at 1 p.m. eastern on April 9th and conclude at midnight on April 11th. The full game is slated for release on April 30th across PS5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. Additionally, a Year 1 Character Pass will be available, promising to expand the fighter lineup with four more characters, the first two of whom are expected to join in June.
