Indianapolis Teacher Involved in Car Accident Near School

An incident occurred on Monday morning in Decatur Township, Indianapolis. A high school teacher was injured in a car accident just outside the school building. Online police reports indicated that Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to assist at the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and South High School Road. It remains unclear how many vehicles were involved, but around 10:30 a.m., IMPD reported that the scene was still very active.A spokesperson from the Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township stated that the injured teacher was rushed to the hospital for treatment. They also emphasized that the accident was highly visible to students and staff at the high school's main entrance.In a statement, the school expressed their gratitude for the support of first responders such as IMPD, the Decatur Township Fire Department, and Decatur Township School Police. Counseling and support services were made available to those in need.It is still unclear what led to the crash and whether anyone else was injured.Statement from MSD Decatur Township:We are deeply saddened to share that one of our own, a Decatur Central High School Teacher, was involved in an accident this morning on Kentucky Avenue and has been transported for medical treatment.
