The House That All Kids Want to Hang Out At

My husband and I have always held a dear aspiration. When our daughter grows up, we envision becoming that remarkable house - the one where all the kids long to gather. We plan to provide an abundance of snacks, refreshing drinks, and a spacious haven. Our goal is to get to know each and every one of her friends intimately. We firmly believe in being privy to the happenings of her life, ensuring we are an integral part of her world.

Creating a Home Where Teens Thrive

Treat Friday - A Tradition of Connection

Back in high school, Karli's friend's mom came up with a brilliant idea - Treat Friday. Every Friday, she would prepare a delectable dessert and set out a couple of jugs of milk. After school, the house would be flooded with teenagers. The entire front entry would be filled with shoes, and the entire house would buzz with the energy of youth. It was an excellent way for the mom to get to know all the people her daughter went to school with. She became "in the know" about what was happening at the high school, and everyone got to enjoy a wonderful treat. This tradition not only brought the kids together but also created lasting memories. As Karli mentioned, on the last Treat Friday before graduation, the mom made recipe books for all the regulars. These bound and laminated recipe booklets contained 45 of their favorite treats from all those high school years. It was a true treasure, and Karli was overjoyed to rediscover it.This is a truly special tradition. By making desserts for all the high school kids and turning their home into a gathering place, the mom provided a safe and comfortable environment for everyone to feel at home. It's about creating a welcoming space where kids want to be and inviting their friends along. Spending time with our kids, sharing desserts, and building a sense of community - that's what it's all about. Sign us up for Treat Friday!

Going the Extra Mile

This mom didn't stop at just Treat Friday. She took it one step further and made a memento for each regular. These recipe books became a keepsake, a reminder of the good times spent at her house. It shows her dedication and thoughtfulness in creating a lasting impact on the lives of her daughter's friends. Such small gestures can have a big impact and make a world of difference. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to overlook the importance of creating a home that welcomes others. But this mom's example reminds us of the power of a simple tradition like Treat Friday. It allows us to connect with our kids and their friends on a deeper level, building relationships and creating memories that will last a lifetime. So, let's all strive to be like that mom someday and make our homes a place where everyone feels welcome and loved.
