Unleashing Unrivaled Off-Road Performance with Hybrid Innovation
The Debut of a Game-Changing Hybrid Powertrain
Horse Powertrain, a joint venture with Geely-Renault, has officially unveiled its new 3DHT200 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system. This innovative powertrain is specifically engineered to significantly boost the off-road prowess of SUVs. Breaking away from conventional perceptions of hybrids, this setup is designed to deliver immense power where it matters most: the wheels.
Exceptional Torque for Extreme Terrains
At the core of the 3DHT200's capabilities is its staggering torque output. The system generates an astounding 3,164 pound-feet (equivalent to 4,920 Newton-meters) of torque directly at the wheels. This remarkable figure translates into practical benefits for off-road enthusiasts, allowing SUVs equipped with this powertrain to ascend inclines as steep as 45 degrees with confidence and ease.
Integrated Design: The "13-in-1" Advantage
The "13-in-1" designation of the new powertrain highlights its integrated design. This refers to the consolidation of 13 major components into a single, compact unit. These components include two electric motors with their respective controllers, an onboard charger, a DC-DC converter, a power distribution unit, a transmission control unit, a sophisticated thermal-management system, a three-speed gearbox, and the motor gearbox. This comprehensive integration not only optimizes performance but also reduces the overall volume of the unit by approximately 10 percent, leading to a more efficient and streamlined package.
Operational Versatility: Multiple Driving Modes
The 3DHT200 offers impressive operational flexibility, featuring multiple driving modes to suit various conditions. It can operate in pure-electric mode for emission-free driving, series-hybrid mode where the combustion engine primarily generates electricity, and parallel-hybrid mode for combined power output. For lower speeds, it can function as a range extender, utilizing the combustion engine to feed the electric motors. At higher speeds, the system efficiently connects the engine directly to the wheels via its three-speed transmission, ensuring optimal power delivery and fuel economy.
Powering the Future of Off-Road SUVs: Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700
The first vehicle slated to feature this cutting-edge powertrain is the forthcoming Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700. This robust, off-road-focused SUV will leverage the 3DHT200 at the front axle, complemented by a separate electric motor at the rear to establish an intelligent e-4WD system. This configuration is projected to deliver a combined output of up to 1,113 horsepower (830 kilowatts). Set to launch in China and other international markets (excluding the US) later this year, the Galaxy Cruiser 700 aims to blend formidable off-road capabilities with impressive fuel efficiency, targeting around 5 liters per 100 kilometers (approximately 47 miles per gallon
