Team Cherry has rolled out a fresh update for their eagerly anticipated title, Hollow Knight: Silksong, applicable across all available platforms. This latest patch primarily targets stability improvements and bug resolutions, aiming to provide a more seamless and enjoyable experience for players. While some specific notes cater to the Steam version, a significant portion of these enhancements will benefit players on other systems, including Nintendo Switch. The update focuses on refining existing mechanics and eliminating glitches rather than introducing major gameplay alterations or difficulty adjustments.

The comprehensive patch notes detail a range of corrections designed to enhance player interaction and game integrity. Notable improvements include expanded support for various controllers, such as the Dualsense Edge, and better compatibility for Mac users. A convenient new feature ensures the game automatically pauses if a controller disconnects, preventing accidental in-game mishaps. Several lingering controller-related issues have also been addressed, with promises of further refinements in future updates.

Beyond controller support, the update tackles numerous in-game anomalies. Players will find fixes for instances where characters might become stuck in a cursed state during late-game progression or unintended air dashes and double jumps could occur. The patch also resolves several scenarios where characters could fall out of bounds, maintaining the game’s immersive environment. Enemy behaviors have been tweaked, such as Pharlid Divers no longer sliding on roofs post-ambush and Surgeon enemies being prevented from pulling the hero off the map.

Item and ability mechanics have also seen adjustments. Issues like Eva Hunter Crest upgrades inadvertently clearing tool equips and Harpoon sometimes granting incorrect amounts of Silk have been rectified. Crafting Kits now correctly boost the damage of offensive blue tools like the Sawtooth Circlet. Furthermore, there have been slight modifications to the damage output of Sharp Dart and Cross Stitch, alongside an update to Rune Rage’s damage scaling to align with other Silk Skills. Thread Storm’s damage has been marginally reduced at higher needle levels for better balance.

Quests and boss encounters have also received attention. A significant change to Fine Pins wish drops now guarantees a 100% chance, though the required quantity has been increased, streamlining this particular quest. Glitches affecting boss fights, such as Crust King Khann falling out of bounds on lower-end systems and Seth occasionally becoming invincible or getting stuck, have been resolved. These fixes contribute to a more predictable and fair challenge during boss encounters, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

This update for Hollow Knight: Silksong solidifies Team Cherry's commitment to delivering a polished and stable game. By addressing a multitude of technical issues and refining various gameplay elements, the developers ensure that players can fully immerse themselves in the world of Pharloom without encountering disruptive bugs. The absence of major gameplay overhauls indicates a focus on perfecting the existing highly-praised design, reinforcing why the game has garnered such critical acclaim.
