In Milford, Ohio, a harrowing incident unfolded when a vehicle crashed into the MedMark Treatment Center. William Cubbage was among the frantic bystanders who rushed to the scene on Wednesday. As he described, "It was an unprecedented sight, and one couldn't help but feel a sense of helplessness as there was little one could do immediately."

911 Calls: A Testament to Community Solidarity

The 911 calls provide a vivid account of how bystanders worked together to assist the victim until the EMS arrived. One call stated, "I think someone's run over by the car, so we definitely need an ambulance." Another call revealed, "I think her left ankle is trapped under the front bumper… She's talking but is just really shaken up." And yet another call mentioned, "They're tying my belt around her leg right now." This collective effort showcases the power of community in times of crisis.

Victim's Rescue and Condition

The victim was eventually freed and taken to the hospital. Miraculously, they are expected to make a full recovery. This is a testament to the quick response and skill of the rescuers. Despite the initial shock and trauma, the victim's life was saved, and they are now on the road to recovery.

Driver's Circumstances and Crash Cause

The driver, a person in their 60s, suffered only minor injuries. The probable cause of the crash was pedal confusion. It is important to note that drugs and alcohol were not factors in this incident. This information provides some clarity on the circumstances surrounding the crash and helps to alleviate any concerns about other potential causes.

Impact on Treatment Center Services

MedMark Regional Director of Operations Meleah Naylor confirmed that the driver was not a patient of theirs. However, she would not disclose whether the victim pinned under the car was a patient or an employee. This incident has temporarily halted services at the center. Patients will receive messages regarding where they can access their services as the center works to rebuild and restore what was destroyed. There is currently no set timeframe for when the center will reopen, but MedMark is working diligently to get things back to normal as soon as possible.
