On a crisp winter day in early January, Fargo welcomed the opening of Phase II at the Sanford Sports Complex. Located at 6100 38th Street South, this state-of-the-art facility has expanded its offerings with numerous new attractions. Kali Mork, Director of the Fargo Sports Center, explained that the planning began in 2016 with a comprehensive needs assessment study. This foundational research guided the design and incorporation of diverse spaces tailored to the community's evolving requirements.

Brian Shawn, Senior Business Development Partner at Sanford Sports, highlighted the transformative impact of the completed renovations. With both entrances now operational, the complex is expected to see increased foot traffic, particularly during weekends when tournaments will be held. The first phase of the Sports Center opened to the public on June 3, 2024, and all administrative operations of the Fargo Park District moved to the new location in May 2024.
