Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: An Overview

Two out of the three multiplayer races this week draw inspiration from the events in the Finals' Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup. Moreover, there's a significant credits boost for participating in one of these races. The action kicks off with Race A, which takes cues from the first Nations Cup race and features road cars and a concept car in a sprint challenge at Trial Mountain. You can only select a rental car from the dozen chosen vehicles, all in standard colors and specifically tuned for this event. The candidate cars include the Chevrolet Corvette C7, Ferrari F40, Ford GT '06, Honda NSX Type R, Jaguar XJ220, Lamborghini Diablo GT, Lexus LFA, Mazda RX-Vision, Mercedes SLR McLaren, Nissan Fairlady Z Z33, Porsche 997 GT3, and Toyota Supra '97. It's just a four-lap sprint around the reworked Trial Mountain circuit, and it's important to note that Driver Rating (DR) updates are turned off, so you won't gain or lose DR. However, your Sportsmanship Rating (SR) may still be affected, so keep it clean.Race B this week is the only one not directly influenced by the GTWS finals. It consists of a sprint race for Gr.4 machinery at Red Bull Ring. While you can choose any Gr.4 car again this week, it seems that all-wheel drive cars are favored for this five-lap sprint on Racing Hard tires. There are no other special considerations, so just pick your car and enjoy the ride.Race C provides the most intrigue this week with a massive 20-lap race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The circuit will host all the action in the Manufacturers Cup, which includes an unusual Superpole format this year. While the finalists need to represent their chosen brand from the 12 qualifiers, you can select any Gr.3 car you like. You'll need to fit Racing Medium tires for this race, and although there is a mandatory pit stop, this regulation is almost insignificant as tire wear is set at a 4x multiplier, and your rubber won't last to the end anyway. And that's not even considering the variable weather that is in effect for this race. Make sure you have both wet tire options available for your vehicle. If you somehow manage to avoid the pits throughout the race, you'll earn a one-minute penalty at the end. Also, be careful of the pit entry and exit lines, which will add a three-second time penalty each time served on-track. Additionally, there's a 1,000% credit boost for taking part in this race, so we expect a lot of participation and some attrition.Daily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events in GT7. Your Driver Rating (DR) and Sportsmanship Rating (SR) are determined by your performances, updating after each race. These ratings are used to set your ranking and league for the game's flagship esports series each season. In order to access the Daily Races, you need to unlock Sport Mode by completing Menu Book 9 ("Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade") in the GT Cafe single player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to participate. With GT7's Daily Races updating every Monday throughout the game's lifespan, the next new set is expected to arrive on Monday, December 9.
