Georgia Tech’s women’s basketball team is set to embark on a new chapter following the addition of two experienced coaching figures. Marsha Frese and Chris Meadows, Sr., have been welcomed into the program by head coach Karen Blair. Their combined expertise promises to enhance both player development and overall team performance.

Frese brings over two decades of coaching experience, marked by her pivotal role in Loyola University Chicago’s turnaround. Under her guidance, the Ramblers significantly improved their win record and climbed the conference standings. Additionally, she spearheaded recruiting efforts that attracted top-tier talent while fostering an academic culture that achieved unprecedented GPA milestones. Before Loyola, Frese led Missouri-Kansas City through its transition to the Western Athletic Conference, nurturing standout players and excelling academically. Her career also includes stints at Illinois, Northern Illinois, and Ball State, where she collaborated closely with her sister, Maryland head coach Brenda Frese, laying groundwork for numerous NCAA Tournament appearances and even a national championship.

Meadows adds another layer of depth to the staff, boasting over three decades of experience across various levels of basketball. Having coached more than 1,000 Division I athletes and multiple McDonald’s All-Americans, he has established himself as one of the most impactful assistant coaches in the nation. At Boston College, Meadows contributed to a historic season victory against NC State and mentored key players like Taina Mair and T’Yana Todd. His influence extends beyond collegiate basketball; Meadows has made significant contributions to AAU circuits and authored educational material aimed at empowering aspiring athletes. With his extensive background in skill development and leadership, Meadows aims to elevate Georgia Tech toward national prominence.
