General Motors Recalls

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles due to incorrect software in the transmission control module. This can lead to harsh shifting, reduced power, unintended deceleration, rear wheel lockup, or cause the vehicle to move in an unintended direction. The recall specifically affects the 2022-2023 model and impacts a wide range of cars, including:

  • 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
  • 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
  • 2020-2022 GMC Sierra 1500
  • 2020-2022 GMC Sierra 2500

  • 2021 Cadillac Escalade

Dealers will update the transmission control module software calibration for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 23. Another Recall for Diesel Vehicles

Another 461,839 vehicles equipped with diesel engines are being recalled. The reason for this recall is that the transmission control valve may fail, which can cause the rear wheels to lock up. This poses a significant safety risk and requires immediate attention.

Chrysler Recalls Over Brake Malfunction

Chrysler is recalling 206,502 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. A malfunction in the antilock brake system module may incorrectly illuminate the brake lights and disable the ABS and electronic stability control. Additionally, the vehicle operator may be able to start and shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied.

The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 5. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA’s number for this recall is 94B. This recall replaces the previous recall number 22V-426. Vehicles previously remedied under 22V-426 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Ford Recalls

Ford is recalling 27,678 vehicles. The airbag warning label may be missing from the dashboard, which fails to comply with the requirement of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.” The vehicles in the recall include:

  • 2020-2025 Explorer
  • 2020-2025 Lincoln Aviator
  • 2020-2024 Escape
  • 2020-2024 Lincoln Corsair
  • 2018-2024 F-150, Expedition
  • 2018-2024 Lincoln Navigator

Ford will mail owners the warning labels for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 16. Owners may call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 24C39.

Ford is also recalling 2,418 2024-2025 F-150, 2024 Expedition and 2024 Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine. The engines may have a misaligned engine cup plug, which can result in a rapid oil leak.

Dealers will inspect the engine cup plug alignment and replace the plug if necessary for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 2. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 24S70.

Honda Recalls Scooters Over Driveshaft

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling 23,483 2016-2025 Metropolitan scooters. An improper seal between the transmission case and the left-side crankcase may allow transmission fluid to leak.

Dealers will inspect and repair the transmission case as necessary for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 20. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda’s number for this recall is KR0.

Land Rover Recall

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 16,759 2014-2016 Range Rover vehicles. The front suspension upper knuckle joint may crack, detaching the suspension arm.

Dealers will inspect the front suspension knuckles and install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle as necessary for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Jan. 3, 2025. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover’s number for this recall is N759.

Rivian Recalls

Rivian Automotive, LLC (Rivian) is recalling 5,128 2025 R1T and R1S vehicles. Software version 2024.39.30 may prevent certain exterior lights from turning on when the Car Costume feature is activated.

Rivian has released an over-the-air software update for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Dec. 18. Owners may contact Rivian customer service at 1-888-748-4261. Rivian’s number for this recall is FSAM-1552.

Tesla Recall

Tesla is recalling 2,431 2024 Cybertruck vehicles. A fault in the drive inverter may cause a loss of drive power to the wheels.

Tesla service will replace the drive inverter for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Jan. 4, 2025. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla’s number for this recall is SB-24-40-009.
