The meals will be available starting June 23 and continue throughout the summer, with specific dates and times tailored to each location. Children do not need to attend these schools to partake in the meals, which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Furthermore, they must remain on-site while eating.

The initiative aims to ensure that all young individuals in the community have access to nutritious food during the summer break. Several elementary, middle, and high schools participate in this effort, providing consistent meal schedules. Additionally, some schools extend their services into July, accommodating families who may require support beyond the initial period.

Schools Participating in Early Summer Meal Programs

In the early phase of the program, multiple schools in Woodbridge, Dumfries, and surrounding areas offer meals from June 23 to July 11. These locations cater to both elementary and middle school students, ensuring widespread availability.

A variety of educational institutions join forces to deliver essential nutrition to local youth. For instance, Covington-Harper Elementary provides meals between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., excluding July 4. Similarly, Fred Lynn Middle serves breakfast and lunch during a slightly different timeframe, starting earlier in June. Each site maintains its unique schedule, but all share the common goal of supporting children's well-being through proper nourishment. High schools like Woodbridge also participate, further expanding the reach of this vital service.

Extended Meal Services Throughout July

Beyond the initial weeks, several schools continue offering meals into July, reinforcing the commitment to child welfare during extended vacation periods. This segment includes additional elementary schools such as Bel Air and Belmont, among others.

As the summer progresses, more locations step up to meet the ongoing needs of families. From July 14 onwards, numerous sites extend their operations, adjusting hours to better fit community demands. Schools like Minnieville Elementary adjust their schedules slightly, pausing service on certain dates while maintaining overall accessibility. Moreover, Western county/Manassas regions actively contribute by incorporating new venues such as Ellis and Innovation Elementary, enhancing geographic coverage. By doing so, the initiative ensures no child goes without necessary sustenance throughout the entire summer season, fostering health and readiness for the upcoming academic year.
