After a minor leakage issue, Fortnite is all set to introduce its highly anticipated and highly hyped first FPS 5v5 mode next week. Gameplay Details

Epic Games has just unveiled Fortnite Ballistic, which will be launched in an 'early access' state on December 11. At launch, it will have one map and a more limited set of weapons and items. However, the developers plan to continuously make adjustments based on player feedback and add new maps, weapons, and features over time. The rest of the mode seems to be inspired by Counter-Strike's classic Terrorists vs. Counter-Terrorists push-and-pull. Here, the two sides are called attackers and defenders to avoid any controversy. Attackers aim to set up a Rift Point Device at one of two locations. A round ends when the device either explodes or when a team gets fully wiped as there are no respawns. After six rounds, the teams switch sides, and the first team to win seven rounds is crowned the overall victor.

Despite being in early access, Fortnite Ballistic will offer both Ranked and Unranked modes. Unranked play provides a more casual experience with backfill for players who drop from matches. Ranked play is for those who want to test their skills in a more competitive environment. The winning team gains rank, while the losing team loses rank. You can find all the details about the mode and its rules on Epic Games' official blog.

Preserving the OG Mode

Fortnite's permanent OG mode will retain some of the rough edges from the classic battle royale era. At the same time, certain quality-of-life improvements have also been incorporated. This ensures that players can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Community Impact

The introduction of Fortnite Ballistic is likely to have a significant impact on the Fortnite community. Players are excited to try out this new mode and see how it compares to other popular FPS games. It will bring a fresh perspective to the game and potentially attract new players. The early access period will give players the opportunity to provide feedback and help shape the future of the mode. Epic Games is committed to listening to the community and making continuous improvements based on their suggestions.
