Greene County Director David McLain has also shared details about the county's free food distributions, which will take place today between 11 AM and 2 PM. These distributions will be held at five different locations: Camp Creek Elementary School, South Greene Middle School, Mosheim Elementary, Baileyton Elementary, and Chuckey Doak Middle School. Families in the Greene County school district can visit these sites to receive essential food items, ensuring that their children's nutritional needs are met.

Greene County Family Resource Center Assistance

In addition to the school-based distributions, the Greene County Family Resource Center will be providing food, diapers, and personal hygiene supplies today and Friday from 10 AM until 2 PM, or until supplies last. These items will be available at two locations: Greenwood Methodist Church on Sam Doak Road and Cedar Grove Christian Church on Chuckey Pike. Families can simply drive up, and the supplies will be brought out to them. To receive assistance, individuals will need to provide their name, address, and the name of their child's school. For those who have been displaced by the recent floods, the resource center offers a text-based delivery service by contacting 423-930-0454.

Ensuring Equitable Access to Nourishment

The coordinated efforts of the Greeneville City and Greene County school systems, along with the Greene County Family Resource Center, demonstrate a deep commitment to supporting the community during these challenging times. By providing accessible food distribution points and a range of essential supplies, these organizations are ensuring that families, regardless of their circumstances, can access the nourishment they need to thrive. This collaborative approach to food security is a testament to the resilience and compassion of the Greeneville and Greene County communities.
