Food Bank's December 2024 Mobile Food Distributions in Indiana

During the holiday season of 2024, various counties in Indiana are coming together to provide much-needed food assistance. These distributions are a lifeline for those in need, ensuring that families have enough to eat during the festive period.

"Spreading Holiday Cheer through Food Distributions"

LaPorte County - Multiple Dates

On Monday, December 2, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT, and again on Wednesday, December 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT, food distributions take place at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds. This is a crucial event, sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless, serving 350 households. Another distribution is scheduled on Tuesday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT at Midwest Electronics, also sponsored by the City of Michigan City and serving 200 households. And on Wednesday, December 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT at Marquette Mall, again sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless and serving 350 households.

The importance of these LaPorte County distributions cannot be overstated. They provide a much-needed boost to families facing food insecurity during the holiday season. With pre-boxed and pre-bagged items, it's a convenient and efficient way to get food into the hands of those who need it.

Marshall County - Various Locations

On Tuesday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET, food is distributed at Trinity Lutheran Church. This is sponsored by United Way of Marshall County and serves 200 households. On Monday, December 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET, it's a produce-only distribution at Argos United Methodist Church, also sponsored by MHS and serving 200 households. And on Monday, December 16, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET at Plymouth Parks, sponsored by United Way of Marshall County and serving 250 households.

The variety of locations and the consistent support from different organizations make these Marshall County distributions a reliable source of food for the community. It shows the collective effort to address food insecurity in the area.

Kosciusko County

On Thursday, December 5, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET, food is distributed at the former Helping Hands Food Pantry in Mentone. Sponsored by MHS, this serves 150 households. It's a significant event that helps families in Kosciusko County get through the holiday season with enough food.

The location and the sponsor play a crucial role in ensuring that the food reaches the right people. MHS's involvement ensures that the quality and quantity of food are up to standard.

Starke County

On Friday, December 6, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT, food is distributed at Knox United Methodist Church. Sponsored by MHS, it serves 250 households. This is an important event that provides much-needed food support to the Starke County community.

The early start time and the convenient location make it accessible for those in need. MHS's sponsorship adds to the credibility and reliability of the distribution.

Elkhart County

On Wednesday, December 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET, at the Excel Center, and on Monday, December 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET at Hawthorne Elementary School, food is distributed. Both are sponsored by COSTCO and serve 200 households each. Additionally, on Tuesday, December 31, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET at Osolo Elementary School, sponsored by The Hershey Company and serving 200 households, there is another distribution.

The different locations and sponsors in Elkhart County ensure that food reaches a wide range of families. COSTCO and The Hershey Company's involvement add to the variety and quality of the food provided.

St. Joseph County

On Thursday, December 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, at the former Bargain Lane building, and on Friday, December 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET at Kennedy Academy, and on Monday, December 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET at Liberty Elementary School, food is distributed. All are sponsored by Hershey and serve 200 households each.

The consistent presence of Hershey in St. Joseph County shows their commitment to helping those in need. The different locations make it convenient for families across the county to access the food.

Assorted food items are offered free of charge. All items are pre-boxed and pre-bagged, ensuring a seamless distribution process. First come, first served, while supplies last, ensuring that those in need get the food they need. Distributions are drive-through, with an area available for self-loading if needed.
