Ridden by jockey Dylan Davis, Bold Fortune broke sharply from the gate and controlled the tempo up front, reaching the half-mile mark in a swift 44.99 seconds. Despite the fast pace, Bold Fortune was able to maintain his advantage and come home the clear winner, with Share the Ludt closing from mid-pack to finish second.Bold Fortune's victory was the 16th stakes win for his sire, Central Banker, and the second stakes performer for his dam, who is also the dam of Bold Fortune's full-sister, Walk With Me. The colt's impressive performance in his first year of racing has now earned him two wins in three starts and $151,270 in career earnings.

Maker's Candy Prevails in the Genesee Valley Breeders' Stakes

The $50,000 Genesee Valley Breeders' Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile race for state-bred horses, also provided an exciting finish. Maker's Candy, a 4-year-old colt trained by Michael Maker, emerged victorious with jockey Manny Franco in the saddle. Maker's Candy crossed the finish line in 1:47.08, followed by Majestic Frontier and Royal Suspect.The win was Maker's Candy's second of the 2024 season and the sixth of his career. The victory also boosted the colt's 2024 earnings by over a third, now standing at $133,560.

Sweet Brown Sugar Shines in the Jack Betta Be Rite Stakes

The $50,000 Jack Betta Be Rite Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile race for state-bred fillies and mares, was another highlight of the day. Sweet Brown Sugar, a 3-year-old filly trained by Paul Barrow, emerged victorious with jockey Jeremiah Flores aboard, completing the race in 1:47.74.Sweet Brown Sugar's win was her fifth of the season and seventh in her career. The filly has now earned $244,400 in 11 career starts, with seven victories, one second-place finish, and one third-place finish.
