During my internship at the Dallas Morning News sports desk, I was assigned to drive over an hour outside the city to Celina, Texas, to speak with the Celina High School football coach, Bill Elliott. This seemingly routine task quickly evolved into a transformative experience that challenged my preconceptions about the role of in-person reporting in a post-COVID world.
