Central Arizona College's Maricopa campus has recently welcomed an array of fresh culinary delights. The introduction of five new food trucks has expanded the dining scene, offering students and staff a variety of flavors and cuisines to explore. These mobile eateries have joined established favorites such as Dr. Coffee and Birria Copa, adding more diversity to the campus food experience.
A diverse range of tastes awaits those who visit these food trucks. For lovers of hearty Southern cuisine, Johnnie B’s Soul Food Kitchen provides comforting meals inspired by traditional family recipes. Patrons can savor dishes like catfish dinners, shrimp and grits, and rich étouffée, all starting at affordable prices. Meanwhile, Mama Bear’s Mini Kitchen serves up delightful breakfast options that won’t break the bank, including breakfast pizza, French toast, and frittata bites, most under $10.
The arrival of these food trucks not only enhances the dining landscape but also brings cultural richness to the community. Native Nom Noms offers authentic Native American fare, featuring Navajo tacos and mutton stew served with frybread. Ohana Island Treats transports visitors to the islands with spam musubi, kalua pork, and shaved ice. Lastly, Taco Culture adds a vibrant touch with its selection of street tacos, burritos, and refreshing agua frescas. This influx of culinary diversity fosters a more inclusive and dynamic environment on campus, encouraging exploration and appreciation of different cultures through food.
