Last month at Silverstone, Nigel Greensall and John Spiers embarked on an extraordinary journey. As they finished lunch one Sunday, Nigel quipped, "See you at tea-time," little did they know the epic adventure that lay ahead.

A Day of Consecutive Racing Wins at Silverstone

Pre-63 GTs in a Shelby Cobra

Historic Automobiles brought the Shelby Cobra to the track. The duo started this race with Spiers at the helm, and Greensall took over at the pitstops. It was a challenging race with the car performing flawlessly, setting the stage for the day's events.

The precision and teamwork between Greensall and Spiers were on full display as they navigated the twists and turns of the track. Their combined efforts led to a successful finish in this first race of the day.

Gerry Marshall Trophy in a Hermetite Ford Capri

TT Motors presented the Hermetite Ford Capri for this race. Here, they had a bit of luck when a dominant Jack Moody in a Rover SD1 received a drive-through penalty for a pitstop infringement. Greensall and Spiers managed to capitalize on this and secure the win.

The wet conditions added an extra layer of difficulty, but Spiers, who is 74 years old, showed no signs of slowing down. His experience and skill in the wet proved to be a crucial factor in their victory.

Stirling Moss Trophy in a Lister Knobbly

CKL brought the Lister Knobbly to the track for this race. Greensall took over from Spiers at the pitstops and went on to dominate the race. His precision driving and understanding of the car's capabilities led to their third consecutive win.

The Lister Knobbly handled beautifully in the hands of Greensall, and they were able to maintain their lead throughout the race. It was a moment of pride for both of them.

Jack Sears Trophy in a Ford Mustang

Historic Automobiles also provided the Ford Mustang for the final race. Greensall and Spiers completed the set with a win in this race, making it four consecutive victories on that Sunday.

The Mustang proved to be a powerful machine, and Greensall's driving skills were on full display as he pushed the car to its limits. Their hard work and determination paid off in the end.

Greensall and Spiers' success was not just about winning races. It was about their ability to work together, adapt to different conditions, and make the most of every opportunity. Their story is a testament to the power of teamwork and passion in motorsport.

After the races, Greensall reflected on the day, saying, "We were excited and really thrilled, but we hadn't taken on board what we had actually done because we'd been so busy doing it!" Their achievement is truly remarkable and will be remembered for a long time.

Greensall is not only a talented driver but also a great coach. He has worked with John Spiers and many others over the years, helping them improve their skills and achieve their goals. His approach of encouraging relaxation and precision has been key to their success.

In addition to their racing exploits, Greensall and Spiers have a unique secret weapon. They love to play crazy golf together and believe that it helps them prepare for the challenges of motorsport. As Greensall said, "Working out how to negotiate that tricky windmill on the seventh hole is the answer when it comes to taking the stress out of motorsport."

Just a couple of weeks after Silverstone, Greensall headed to Daytona for the classic 24 Hours. He drove three sportscars from different eras and notched up his 100th race start in a calendar year. His achievements are truly impressive and show no signs of slowing down.

Throughout the year, Greensall has been involved in a wide variety of races, from old racing cars to modern sportscars. His love for racing is evident in every race he participates in.

The official numbers for 2023 speak for themselves: 102 races and three rallies; 34 cars raced, with 21 co-drivers; races on 23 circuits in nine countries; 30 wins (including class as well as overall), 63 podiums, 33 pole positions and 47 fastest laps. He's set to top some of these numbers this year with exciting events like the Classic Sebring 12 Hours and the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie.

Greensall's racing life is a never-ending adventure, and he shows no signs of slowing down. His story is an inspiration to all motorsport enthusiasts and a reminder of the power of passion and hard work.
