Empowering Students, Enriching Futures
The Cornerstone of Community Commitment
Measure AA, a parcel tax of $148 annually, has been a cornerstone of the TTUSD educational system since 1989. This measure is more than just a tax; it's a testament to our community's shared values and commitment to providing our students with a well-rounded education that prepares them both academically and emotionally for their futures. Measure AA supports a variety of essential programs and initiatives that go beyond the basic state standards, ensuring our students have access to the resources they need to thrive.Fostering a Diverse Learning Environment
Through Measure AA, TTUSD is able to fund a wide range of programs that enrich the educational experience for our students. This includes providing school supplies to ensure all students have the necessary materials for their education, funding for music programs, instruments, and art supplies, and access to cutting-edge technology resources such as computers and iPads. Additionally, Measure AA supports counseling programs and mental health initiatives, enabling our students to receive the social-emotional support they need to navigate the challenges of their academic journey.Preparing for the Future
Measure AA also plays a crucial role in funding career technical education programs, offering vocational training and college preparation opportunities. This empowers our students to explore their passions, develop their talents, and prepare for successful futures. Furthermore, the measure enables extracurricular activities and academic enhancement programs, such as field trips, elective course supports, and Advanced Placement (AP) classes, providing our students with a well-rounded educational experience.Tangible Impact on Student Success
The impact of Measure AA is tangible and far-reaching. Last year, Glenshire Elementary received over $670,000 directly from Measure AA funding for the 2023-2024 school year. This support enabled the school to hire a full-time music teacher, physical education teacher, counselor, librarian, and part-time science and art teachers. It also enhanced extracurricular activities, music, art, physical education, technology, counseling, science, and the library.Similarly, North Tahoe High School received over $740,000 for the 2023-2024 school year, supporting full-time music, art, and librarian positions, as well as partial funding for additional engineering, sports medicine, AP human geography, AP language, and AP literature teachers. These funds were also used to provide supplemental learning materials in music, physical education, science, library, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and visual and performing arts.Fostering Community Engagement
