Among them, Stronghold, who recently placed tenth in the prestigious Pegasus World Cup, marked his return to training by completing three furlongs in 38 seconds at Santa Anita under the guidance of trainer Phil D’Amato. The promising colt had previously claimed victory in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby in 2024 and showed competitive form against older horses in his latest outing.

Brightwork also made headlines as she returned to action at Keeneland after a hiatus since her third-place finish in last fall's Thoroughbred Club of America (G2). Under John Ortiz’s supervision, this talented filly completed four furlongs in 48.2 seconds, marking her second workout since resuming training. Her impressive resume includes victories in the Spinaway (G1) and Prioress (G3), cementing her status as one of the most promising young talents in the sport.

Monday's workouts featured several other notable performers, each preparing diligently for future challenges. Gaming, known for winning the Del Mar Futurity (G1), clocked an impressive five furlongs in 58.4 seconds at Santa Anita, setting the pace among 27 works at that distance. Meanwhile, Speed Boat Beach, victorious in the Malibu (G1), covered five furlongs in 59.2 seconds, showcasing his speed and endurance. The collective efforts of these elite athletes highlight the relentless pursuit of excellence within the world of horse racing. Each workout represents not only physical conditioning but also strategic planning aimed at achieving peak performance on race day. As fans eagerly anticipate the next chapter in these horses' journeys, the commitment displayed by both equine and human participants serves as a testament to the spirit of perseverance and ambition driving the sport forward.
