In a remarkable display of resilience and talent, Ukraine's Yeva Serdiuk and Daria Romaniuk emerged victorious at the women's Warsaw Futures, securing their first-ever Beach Pro Tour medal. Supported by the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment program, the young duo overcame a challenging field to claim the gold, while Lithuania's Daniele Kvedaraite and Jekaterina Kovalskaja earned a bronze medal, and Poland's home favorites, Aleksandra Wachowicz and Julia Radelczuk, settled for silver.

The 20-year-old Ukrainian duo of Yeva Serdiuk and Daria Romaniuk, fresh off their 2022 U19 world championship title, embarked on a remarkable run at the Warsaw Futures. Starting from the qualifiers, the seventh-seeded team from Ukraine showcased their resilience and skill, winning seven consecutive matches and dropping only a single set along the way. Their impressive performance culminated in a dominant 2-0 (21-12, 21-14) victory over the top-seeded Polish pair of Aleksandra Wachowicz and Julia Radelczuk in the gold medal match.

The Impact of FIVB Volleyball Empowerment

The FIVB Volleyball Empowerment program has been instrumental in supporting the Ukraine Volleyball Federation's continued efforts in volleyball and beach volleyball activities since 2022. Through a funding allocation of CHF 210,000 per year, the program has enabled the Ukrainian national team to maintain its competitive edge and nurture the next generation of talent, as evidenced by Serdiuk and Romaniuk's triumph.

Lithuania's Kvedaraite and Kovalskaja Claim Bronze

Alongside the Ukrainian duo's success, another FIVB Volleyball Empowerment beneficiary, the Lithuanian team of Daniele Kvedaraite and Jekaterina Kovalskaja, also made their mark at the Warsaw Futures. The fifth-seeded Lithuanian pair reached the semifinals, where they faced a tough challenge from the home favorites, Wachowicz and Radelczuk. Despite the loss, Kvedaraite and Kovalskaja bounced back with a 2-1 (21-17, 17-21, 15-12) victory over Ukraine's Inna Makhno and Sofiia Rylova in the third-place match, securing their second Beach Pro Tour medal after their bronze at the Rakvere Futures in July.

Poland's Wachowicz and Radelczuk Claim Silver

The home team of Aleksandra Wachowicz and Julia Radelczuk, making their Beach Pro Tour debut as a team, also impressed with their performance. The top-seeded duo reached the final undefeated, showcasing their talent and determination. In the gold medal match, they faced a formidable challenge from the Ukrainian champions, Serdiuk and Romaniuk, ultimately settling for the silver medal.
