This revision, he explained, resonated more deeply with the concept of witchcraft and the pursuit of empowerment that the protagonist embodies. The story follows Billie (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld), a defiant teenager struggling to fit in at school. Her life takes an unexpected turn when a bracelet, which her mother Alice (voiced by Rashida Jones) insisted she wear, comes off. This incident triggers the manifestation of magical powers that Alice has suppressed since Billie's infancy.
