The capital city of Delhi is poised to reaffirm its prominence in the world of classic automobiles with the upcoming 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance, an event that has become a cornerstone of India’s motoring heritage. Scheduled from February 21 to 23, 2025, this prestigious exhibition will take visitors on a journey through automotive history, starting at India Gate and concluding at Ambience Greens Golf Course in Gurugram. The three-day extravaganza promises to be a feast for enthusiasts, featuring an array of rare vintage cars and motorcycles.
A highlight of the event will be the presentation of 125 exquisite vintage and classic vehicles, alongside 50 heritage motorcycles. Among these treasures are iconic models such as the 1939 Delahaye (Figoni et Falaschi), Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Cadillac, Ford, and Aston Martin. Notably, three exceptional vintage cars—the 1932 Lancin Austura Pininfarina, 1936 AC 16/70 Sports Coupe, and 1948 Bentley Mark 6 Drophead Coupe—will make their debut at this year's show. Beyond the automobile exhibits, attendees can enjoy performances of traditional Indian dances, including Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, and folk dances from Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Haryana, adding a rich cultural dimension to the event.
Mr. Madan Mohan, Founder & Managing Trustee of the 21 Gun Salute Heritage & Cultural Trust, highlighted the event's significance on the global stage. "Each year, we continue to set new benchmarks in positioning India as a leading destination for heritage motoring tourism," he said. "This edition of the rally is being organized on an unprecedented scale, attracting some of the world’s rarest classic automobiles. We expect record-breaking participation from collectors, enthusiasts, and connoisseurs of motoring heritage." He also noted that Delhi NCR is rapidly becoming a hub for vintage car aficionados, thanks to its infrastructure, thriving automotive industry, and growing interest in preserving motoring history.
The event will feature several unique initiatives aimed at engaging both young and seasoned enthusiasts. The Junior Concours Grand Prix offers children and families an interactive platform to explore the world of vintage cars, fostering a passion for classic automobiles among future generations. An exclusive live auction will provide collectors with the opportunity to own pieces of motoring history, while the GuruSpeaks Tech Talk sessions will host discussions led by industry experts. Additionally, a nationwide photography competition invites photographers to capture the elegance of the vintage masterpieces on display.
The 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance not only celebrates the rich legacy of classic cars but also underscores the importance of preserving automotive heritage. By bringing together enthusiasts, collectors, and experts, the event fosters a community dedicated to honoring and promoting the timeless beauty of vintage vehicles. It highlights the value of tradition and craftsmanship, encouraging future generations to appreciate and carry forward this important aspect of our cultural and industrial history.
