Starting on Wednesday morning, the Lodi Salvation Army at 525 W. Lockeford St. in Lodi began distributing food. This is just the beginning of a month-long effort to provide sustenance to the community.
On Thursday, December 5, the Tracy Interfaith Ministries at 311 Grant Line Road in Tracy will hold a food distribution from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's important to note that this distribution center is specifically for ZIP codes 95304, 95376, 95385, 95391, and 95377.
The San Joaquin County Human Services Agency's Food For You program offers free food to low-income families. Eligibility is determined by residency in the ZIP code where the distributions are taking place and meeting the established income guidelines. When arriving at a food distribution, recipients must show proof of residency such as a utility bill, rent receipt, or other bill. However, if unable to provide such proof, food can still be received.
All recipients are required to sign the EFAP Certification of Eligibility (EFA 7), where they declare their income eligibility and residency in San Joaquin County.
Next week, there will be 19 food distributions starting on Tuesday, December 17 in Stockton. Other distributions are scheduled in Escalon, Manteca, Tracy, Lathrop, Lodi, Ripon, Thornton, and Woodbridge.
For example, on Tuesday, December 17, from 6 to 7 p.m., the Ruakh Church at 8407 Kelley Drive in Stockton (ZIP codes: 95204, 95207, 95208, 95209, 95210, and 95219) will be distributing food.
On Wednesday, December 18, from 8 to 10 a.m., the C.A.R.E. Food Bank at 1601 Second St. in Escalon (ZIP codes: 95320 and 95230) will be open, and from 9 a.m. to noon, the Stockton Emergency Food Bank at 7 W. Scotts Ave. in Stockton will be serving all of San Joaquin County.
Thursday, December 19, is a busy day with various distribution times and locations. From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the Boggs Tract Community Center at 533 South Los Angeles Ave. in Stockton (ZIP codes: 95201, 95202, and 95203) will be distributing food. At 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the Calvary Community Church at 815 W. Lathrop Road in Manteca (ZIP codes: 95336 and 95337) will be open, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed 12-1 p.m.), El Concilio California at 224 S Sutter St. in Stockton will be serving all of San Joaquin County.
There are also distributions at the Garden Acres Community Center at 607 Bird Ave. in Stockton (ZIP codes: 95215, 95212, and 95236) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Kennedy Community Center at 2800 South D St. in Stockton (ZIP code 95206 at East of El Dorado St.) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Larch Clover Community Center at 11157 West Larch Road in Tracy (ZIP codes: 95304, 95376, 95385, 95391, and 95377) from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., the Lathrop Senior Center at 15707 East 5th St. in Lathrop (ZIP codes: 95231 and 95330) from 9 to 11 a.m., the Lincoln Presbyterian Church at 6241 Gettysburg Place in Stockton (ZIP codes: 95204, 95207, 95208, 95209, 95210, and 95219) from 4 to 6 p.m., the Lockeford Seventh Day Adventist Church at 19900 Elliot Road in Lockeford (ZIP codes: 95227, 95237, and 95253) from 8 to 11 a.m., the Lodi Community Center at 415 Sacramento St. in Lodi (ZIP codes: 95240, 95241, 95242, 95220, and 95632) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Northeast Community Center at 2885 East Harding Way in Stockton (ZIP code: 95205) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Ripon Community Center at 334 Fourth St. in Ripon (ZIP code: 95366) from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m., the Taft Community Center at 389 West Downing Ave. in Stockton (ZIP code: 95206 at West of El Dorado St.) from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., the Bridge at Stockton at 703 East Swain Road in Stockton (ZIP codes: 95204, 95207, 95208, 95209, 95210, and 95219) from 10 a.m. to noon, and the Thornton Community Center at 26675 N. Sacramento Blvd. in Thornton (ZIP code: 95686) from noon to 2 p.m. Finally, at 10 to 11 a.m., the Woodbridge Missionary Baptist Church at 673 Woodbridge Road in Woodbridge (ZIP code: 95258) will be distributing food.
