Debi Lindsey Morrison is all set to make this Thanksgiving truly eventful. Not only is she busy preparing the turkey but is also all set to make a grand appearance on the Food Network on Thanksgiving night. She hails from the famous Lindsey family of Wareham, a family that once owned one of the most successful restaurants in Wareham's history. One might expect her to showcase recipes related to Lindsey's famous turkey gravy or seafood bisque on the Food Network. But as she herself said, "Yeah, especially where my background is in public speaking, hospitality, always front of the house. To be doing something like this is a little random. I've loved baking my whole life, though."

Morrison's Appearance on the Christmas Cookie Challenge

Debi will grace the Christmas Cookie Challenge on Thanksgiving night at 9 p.m. on the Food Network. The segment was filmed in a set resembling Santa's Workshop over the course of 3 days in April in Los Angeles. The grand prize? A whopping $10,000. As Morrison explained, "It starts with a 90-minute challenge. Start to finish to create a cookie. They judge it. I was able to choose my ingredients for this challenge, which was still stressful, but not too bad." If one makes it to the next round, they face a two and a half hour challenge where the show provides a specific ingredient that they have to incorporate into the recipe. All the cookies created were holiday cookie themed.

Running a Cookie Business

Since 2015, Debi has been operating a cookie business from her Marion home. She can provide custom cookies for various events like holidays, weddings, showers, or birthdays. She also conducts classes at local venues. Orders range from a dozen cookies to a massive 450-cookie order coming up next week.

Cookie Tips for the Holiday Season

With so many people getting into baking cookies in the next 4-5 weeks, Debi shared two golden rules. Firstly, always chill your dough. Secondly, never use warm butter as it will cause the cookies to spread. The takeaway is clear - chill your dough and chill your butter! These simple tips can make a big difference in the outcome of your cookies.Yeah, a little too hard. Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you.You too.
