Dayton Police Arrest Two Following High-Speed Chase and Collision

A high-speed pursuit unfolded in Dayton on Thursday evening, resulting in the arrest of two individuals after a collision. Around 6:30 p.m., law enforcement received reports of an aggravated robbery involving a stolen vehicle at the intersection of Valley View Drive and West Fairview Avenue. Lieutenant Steven Bauer of the Dayton Police Department provided details on the incident.

The chase commenced when officers, while searching for the victim, identified the stolen vehicle. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspects fled the scene, disregarding multiple traffic regulations and posing a significant risk to public safety. The pursuit concluded dramatically at the intersection of Philadelphia Drive and West Hillcrest Avenue, where the stolen vehicle ran a red light and collided with another car.

Following the crash, the driver, a 43-year-old male, was transported to a nearby hospital before being transferred to Montgomery County Jail. His female passenger, aged 36, faced a similar fate after receiving medical treatment. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision also sustained injuries but was reported to be in stable condition. Authorities noted that the male suspect was found in possession of a firearm he was not authorized to carry and had several outstanding warrants against him.
