Unlocking the Potential of CSI's Rising Stars

Homecoming for a Legendary Player

Kevin "KG" Galloway, a former CSI standout, has returned to his alma mater to share his expertise and mentor the next generation of players. Galloway's basketball journey has been nothing short of remarkable. After a successful stint at CSI during the 2007-08 season, he transferred to the University of Kentucky, where he continued to hone his skills. Following his collegiate career, Galloway embarked on a 14-year international professional journey, showcasing his talents in countries like Japan, Greece, Qatar, Lebanon, Uruguay, and Iraq. Now, he's come full circle, eager to impart his hard-earned wisdom and experience to the Golden Eagles."It feels good to be back," Galloway expressed with palpable enthusiasm. "I got a lot of adrenaline and pride. I'm ready for the challenge." Galloway's intimate understanding of the student-athlete experience will undoubtedly be a valuable asset as he guides the players in their pursuit of excellence.Head coach Jeff Reinert echoed the sentiment, stating, "Kevin Galloway is one of the greats to play at CSI. We've been in conversations over my time here, and the timing for him to join our staff worked out perfectly. Kevin is an extremely upbeat and positive coach that has played at the highest level, and his individual training will help our players maximize their abilities."

Bringing Utah's Winning Mentality to CSI

Joining Galloway on the coaching staff is Harrison Van Dyke, who brings a wealth of experience from his time with the Utah Utes men's basketball team. Van Dyke served as a manager and graduate assistant for the Utes for six years, working closely with assistant coach AJ Demond."Jeff (Reinert) and AJ sold me on what CSI is," Van Dyke shared. "It's a storied JUCO program with great kids, talent, and support from the community. I was sold from the second I walked in." Van Dyke's familiarity with the Utes' program, which finished last season with a 22-15 overall record and a deep postseason run to the NIT semifinals, will undoubtedly be a valuable asset as he transitions to his new role at CSI.During his time with the Utes, Van Dyke had the opportunity to work with players such as Branden Carlson and Deivon Smith, both of whom were named to the All-Pac-12 team. This experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of what it takes to help student-athletes reach the next level."I've been in those locker rooms, been in those conversations, and been behind closed doors in those meetings, so I know what it takes," Van Dyke said. "I hope I can bring that mentality and show these kids and players that this is the standard. If you want to get to the next level, you need to do whatever it takes to make it to those levels."
