Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports has once again proven its prowess on the track, securing the pole position in the GTD PRO class for the upcoming six-hour Battle on The Bricks at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With a stunning performance from Nicky Catsburg in the No. 4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, the team is poised to make a strong push for their first class victory of the season and the second for the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports team.

Pole Position Secured in GTD PRO

Nicky Catsburg's blistering lap of 1:23.209 (105.521 mph) in the No. 4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R earned the team the coveted pole position in the highly competitive GTD PRO class. Despite the original pole-winning car being penalized in post-qualifying technical inspection, Catsburg and his teammate Tommy Milner now find themselves at the front of the grid, ready to capitalize on their advantageous starting position.The No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, driven by Alexander Sims and Antonio Garcia, will start fourth in GTD PRO after Sims' lap of 1:23.298 (105.409 mph). With the top six cars in the class separated by less than two-tenths of a second, the stage is set for an intense and thrilling battle on the 2.439-mile, 14-turn Indianapolis circuit.

Corvette Racing's Endurance Prowess

The Pratt Miller-run Corvettes have consistently demonstrated their strength in endurance racing this season, with impressive performances at the previous three endurance rounds – Daytona, Sebring, and Watkins Glen. Chevrolet currently leads the Endurance Cup Manufacturers Championship, with just the Indianapolis and Petit Le Mans events remaining on the calendar.The large field of 56 entries across the four classes at Indianapolis has added an extra layer of importance to qualifying, as track position will be crucial in the six-hour race. The tight competition is evident, with the gap from the front of GTD PRO to ninth in the final practice session being just 0.43 seconds.

AWA's Momentum and Le Mans Aspirations

In the GTD class, AWA will start 20th with Orey Fidani behind the wheel of the No. 13 Corvette Z06 GT3.R. The team has been on a positive trajectory, with back-to-back top-six finishes in the last two races, a feat achieved by only four other entrants in the class.Fidani and his co-driver Matt Bell have also been making strides in the Bob Akin Award championship, having scored maximum points in the previous round at VIR. If Fidani can maintain his lead in the championship, he and AWA will earn an automatic invitation to the prestigious 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGT3 class, a significant achievement for the team.
