The Olive Festival and Car Show officially kicks off on October 1st with the highly anticipated Tuesday Night Market in downtown Corning. This lively event features the Corning Does it Bedder Bed Races, a unique and entertaining competition that has become a crowd-favorite. For the second consecutive year, the Corning Volunteer Fire Department emerged victorious, showcasing their teamwork and competitive spirit.

A Cruise Through Solano Street

On Friday, October 11th, the celebration continues with a "Cruise Solano" event from 6 to 7 p.m. This classic car parade allows enthusiasts to showcase their prized vehicles and take a leisurely drive through the heart of Corning. Following the cruise, a Mixer and Show 'n Shine event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Marco's Pizza, 2116 Solano Street. Attendees can enjoy live music by Irish Cement, test their skills on a mechanical bull, and take advantage of a 15% discount on their orders during the mixer timeframe.

Fueling Up with a Firefighter's Breakfast

The main event kicks off on Saturday, with the Corning Volunteer Fire Department's Annual Pancake Breakfast starting at 7 a.m. and running until 10 a.m. For a donation of $8, visitors can indulge in a hearty meal of pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, and coffee, all served in the cozy confines of the Fire Hall at 814 Fifth Street.

Car enthusiasts will be in for a treat as they stroll through the lines of parked vehicles at the Car Show, which runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lennox Park, 1624 Houghton Avenue.
