Officers responded to Hartford Hospital after a vehicle with multiple gunshot victims arrived at the emergency area just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartford Interim Police Chief Kenny Howell announced on Wednesday that his department had obtained an arrest warrant charging Morales, a resident of Waterbury, Connecticut, with two counts of murder, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree assault, and criminal attempt to commit assault. The bond for Morales was set at $3 million.The incident is believed to have stemmed from a "personal dispute over a vehicle." Morales is said to have pulled up alongside the vehicle Mercado and Diaz were in and opened fire on them in the area of 380 New Britain Avenue before fleeing.
