Through a collaborative effort between Waco Independent School District (Waco ISD) and Douglass Subaru, children from underprivileged backgrounds received brand-new winter coats. This partnership was made possible through Operation Warm, a nationwide non-profit organization that teams up with Subaru dealerships to provide essential clothing items to those in need. General Manager Jeff Payne of Douglass Subaru expressed his gratitude for being able to extend a helping hand to the community. He emphasized that stepping out of the daily routine to contribute positively makes a significant difference. "It's an honor to be able to give back to those who need it most," he remarked.

The event showcased the school district's commitment to supporting its students beyond academics. Families were contacted by the Student Services and Support Department to identify children requiring winter coats. Those who needed assistance were invited to a special gathering at Waco Family Medicine, where they enjoyed hot cocoa and a movie while selecting their new coats. Julianne Heldt, representing the Student Services and Support team, highlighted the importance of such initiatives. "This event fosters a sense of belonging and love within our school community," she explained. "When we create opportunities for families to come together and celebrate, everyone leaves feeling valued and hopeful about the future."

Third-grader Kamden Parsons, who chose a red and grey jacket, conveyed his gratitude towards Subaru for organizing this event.
