Collina Strada's Runway Celebrates the Beauty of Nature

Collina Strada's Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show, titled "Touch Grass," was a captivating ode to the natural world. Held in the Marble Cemetery in New York City's East Village, the runway was transformed into a lush, earthy oasis, showcasing the brand's commitment to sustainable fashion and embracing the inherent beauty of the natural landscape.

Unleashing the Wild and Free Spirit of Fashion

Embracing the Untamed Essence of Nature

The Collina Strada runway was a testament to the brand's ethos of celebrating the raw, unfiltered beauty of the natural world. Models strutted along the grassy floor, adorned in stunning designs that mirrored the soft pastels and intricate lace patterns found in nature. The inclusion of the infamous "Green Lady" and beauty icon Tish Weinstock further emphasized the show's connection to the natural realm, blurring the lines between the runway and the great outdoors.

Crafting Hair that Embodies the Wild and Free

Stylist Charlie Le Mindu, working with Bumble & Bumble, knew that the hair had to reflect the show's theme of embracing the untamed essence of nature. Ethereal floor-length wigs, greasy cool hair, tiny braids, and enhanced natural texture were chosen to capture the models' innate fierceness. The wigs, dyed by the brand's colorists and sewn into crinoline, were braided to mimic natural waves and then deliberately unraveled, creating a sense of effortless, windswept beauty.

Skincare Takes Center Stage

In a bold move, the show eschewed traditional makeup, with key makeup artist Dick Page stating, "I kept the unique qualities of each model's beauty by using simple contrasts of skincare texture, smooth, softly glowing skin accented with shining highlights." The sole sponsor for the skincare was the clinically-backed brand Dieux, which provided the foundation for the models' radiant, natural-looking complexions. The Deliverance Serum was used to prep and moisturize the skin, while the Barrier Blanket Balm was applied to the lips, eyelids, brow bone, and brows to add a subtle sheen and hold.

Embracing the Inherent Beauty of the Natural World

Collina Strada's "Touch Grass" runway show was a powerful statement on the beauty of embracing the natural world. By showcasing designs that mirrored the soft hues and intricate patterns found in nature, and by highlighting the models' innate beauty through minimalist skincare and hair styling, the brand challenged the traditional notions of runway beauty. This celebration of the raw, unfiltered essence of nature resonated with the audience, leaving a lasting impression and solidifying Collina Strada's position as a trailblazer in the sustainable fashion movement.
