A beloved institution in Kearney, dedicated to preserving automotive history, is set to host an unprecedented evening of celebration. The American Automobile Experience, home to over 150 classic vehicles, will open its doors on February 23 for a special fundraising event that promises an engaging night filled with entertainment and auctions. Attendees can look forward to a sumptuous dinner, interactive experiences, and exclusive opportunities.
The highlight of the evening will be a live video engagement with Dave Kindig, a renowned figure from the TV show Bitchin Rides, who will share insights into the world of custom cars. Additionally, the live auction will offer unique items such as a trip to the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Experience, complete with private jet travel, golf packages at The Prairie Club, tickets to the prestigious SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and exhilarating driving experiences at Hastings Motorsports Park.
The museum's success has been driven by its passionate volunteers, whose dedication to sharing their love for automobiles has made it a cornerstone of the community. Board member Norris Marshall emphasized the importance of this support, noting that it has enabled significant achievements, including a partnership with the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. This collaboration brought James Hetfield’s “Reclaimed Rust” collection to Kearney, attracting visitors from across the region and elevating the museum's profile.
The inaugural fundraiser aims to build on this momentum, securing resources to continue offering exciting exhibits and educational programs. Brad Kernick, a spokesperson for the museum, expressed optimism about the event's potential to enhance the museum's offerings and further engage the community. Through this event, the American Automobile Experience seeks not only to raise funds but also to foster a deeper connection between people and the rich history of automobiles.
