As the holiday season approaches, the City of Edinburg is working tirelessly to ensure that all residents can enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving meal. Preparing for the Big Day
The Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department will host a kick-off ceremony at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 315 Mark S. Pena Drive, marking the start of the food distribution efforts. This annual event has become a cherished tradition in the city, as it brings together the community to support those in need during the holiday season.In the weeks leading up to the event, the city is encouraging residents to donate non-perishable food items, such as canned fruits and vegetables, stuffing, and gravy mixes. Donation boxes have been placed at various locations throughout Edinburg, including City Hall, the Edinburg Police Department, the Central Fire Station, the Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department, Hidalgo County Precinct 4, Texas Barbershop, the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library, and all Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District (ECISD) schools.Mobilizing Volunteers for a Successful Delivery
