A significant development is underway in the dairy sector as Chobani embarks on a transformative $500 million expansion of its Twin Falls facility. This project, set to become the largest natural food production hub in the country, will span an impressive 1.6 million square feet and boast 24 production lines. By enhancing productivity by 50%, this investment represents the most substantial commitment in Chobani's history. The plant, originally launched in 2012 with subsequent upgrades in 2016, now gains over half a million square feet of additional space.

The expansion aims to fortify Idaho's dairy industry by creating at least 160 new full-time positions. Construction has already commenced, with operations slated for early 2026. According to Chobani, what began as an empty plot in Twin Falls a decade ago has evolved into a pivotal center of innovation in the food industry. Shawn Barigar, the city's economic development director, emphasized the robust collaboration between Chobani and the local government, underscoring their dedication to providing essential infrastructure for this ambitious initiative.

Beyond the current expansion, Chobani's contributions to the region extend far beyond monetary investments. Since establishing its presence in Twin Falls in 2012, the company has infused over $1.3 billion into the area, including a generous donation to the University of Idaho's dairy research facility. Such efforts highlight the positive impact of corporate responsibility and underscore the importance of fostering partnerships that drive regional growth and innovation in sustainable food production.
