Chloe Fineman's Favorite SNL Sketch: Dog, Peanut Butter & Kristen Wiig

Dec 7, 2024 at 10:40 PM
As the holiday season approaches, we find ourselves reminiscing about past Christmas memories while preparing for new ones. For Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman, one of her most cherished SNL memories took place during a Christmas episode. Surprisingly, it involves a dog, peanut butter, and Kristen Wiig. After hearing this story, it's clear that this moment will be a tough one to top in the 2024 TV schedule.

Chloe Fineman's Favorite Sketch: "Christmas Morning"

This sketch was filmed in 2020 during the COVID pandemic when Kristen Wiig returned to host the annual Christmas episode. Unfortunately, the dog handler for the sketch came down with COVID. But for Chloe Fineman, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have her own dog in a sketch. She shared the story with People:"We snuck my dog in and he's in that video. He did dog acting by having peanut butter all over the set and just licking stuff. It was a real star turn for my dog, and he was held by Kristen Wiig. She's like a hero to me. That's my favorite."This has to be one of the most memorable "take your pet to work day" experiences. Every year when our family watches the SNL Christmas special, this sketch always gets a laugh. Now that we know the story behind it, we love it even more. If comedic legend Kristen Wiig held my dog, I'd never wash her again. Chloe Fineman's Shibu Inu, Peach, who was a puppy at the time, nailed his role and gave his mom a run for her money. Check out the sketch below:Christmas Morning – SNL – YouTubeWatch On

The Journey of Chloe Fineman at SNL

Chloe Fineman joined the sketch comedy ensemble as a featured player during the 45th season. Fast forward to 2024, and she's now one of the main cast members, appearing in all of this season's best sketches, including the viral "Bridesmaids Speech" with Domingo. It's no surprise that she sees Kristen Wiig, a 5-Timer Club member, as a role model. Based on her own trajectory over the past five years, Fineman is on pace to become one of the SNL greats like Wiig. Although her tenure hasn't been without its challenges, she has become a sketch staple and has racked up impressive impressions this season, like those of Jojo Siwa and Kaitlan Collins. It wouldn't be surprising if Fineman starts getting more gigs outside of the late-night comedy show and moves on to bigger opportunities, just like many former cast members.

The Upcoming 50th Anniversary Season at SNL

Some of the best moments at SNL happen when alumni return to Studio 8H. Given it's the 50th season, we can expect to see many familiar faces in the next few months. This season alone, fans have already seen appearances from Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, Pete Davidson, and John Mulaney. Not to mention the iconic return of Dana Carvey as President Joe Biden. Paired with the talented cast including Fineman, Bowen Yang, Heidi Gardner, and Marcello Hernandez, this is bound to be one of the most memorable seasons in SNL history. While you're enjoying the Christmas season, don't forget to revisit Chloe Fineman's sketch and other yuletide-centric ones.
