An eagerly anticipated celebration of aviation and automotive excellence is returning to Chickasha this June. The Wings & Wheels Air Show and Car Show will take place on June 7 at the Chickasha Municipal Airport, offering a day filled with thrilling performances, family-friendly activities, and a showcase of classic and modern vehicles. Visitors can enjoy aerobatic displays, free airplane rides for children, and an extensive car exhibition without any admission or parking fees.
This year’s event promises to deliver excitement with captivating aerial demonstrations by renowned performers such as Erik Edgren, Stephen Covington, Leland Kracher, Twisted Texan Airshows, Falcon Flight, among others. One of the highlights will be the return of Lady Liberty, featuring a beloved children’s train ride that forms part of its static display. Families attending will have the opportunity to participate in the Young Eagles program, where kids aged 8 to 17 can experience the exhilaration of flight through complimentary airplane rides, subject to availability.
In addition to the air show, enthusiasts of all ages can look forward to the NAPA Car Show, which will recognize outstanding entries across seven categories. Prizes include awards for Best Paint, Pilot’s Choice, People’s Choice, and Best in Show. Participants interested in securing their spot should register early, either in person from 8 a.m. to noon or online via chickasha.org/wings. Last year, over 130 vehicles graced the event, showcasing a blend of vintage charm and cutting-edge design.
To ensure everyone stays energized throughout the day, a selection of food trucks will provide breakfast, snacks, and lunch options. Vendor booths will operate from morning until early afternoon, while attendees are encouraged to come prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, seating arrangements, and bottled water provided free of charge. Security measures prohibit weapons, coolers, alcohol, pets, and unauthorized vehicles within airport premises; however, accommodations for medical devices and shuttle services will remain available.
With last year’s turnout exceeding 5,500 visitors, organizers anticipate another successful gathering under the sponsorship of the City of Chickasha, Chickasha Wings, and Marshall Auto Supply – NAPA. For continuous updates, interested parties may refer to www.chickasha.org/wings.
Aimed at uniting aviation aficionados and car collectors alike, this community-driven spectacle invites participants to immerse themselves in a day of fun, education, and admiration for both flying machines and ground-bound masterpieces. Whether engaging with skilled pilots or appreciating meticulously maintained automobiles, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Wings & Wheels 2024.
