The Center Theatre's summer drama camp, hosted for two weeks every year, caters to children aged 6 to 13. Offered on a "pay what you can" basis, the camp aims to remove financial barriers and provide equal opportunities for all. "Being from a smaller community, you know, we can't do anything by ourselves," comments Patrick Myers, the Executive Director of the Center Theatre. "It's about the kids being able to explore their creativity, gain confidence, gain leadership skills."Over the past two decades, the Center Theatre has witnessed the transformative impact of its drama camp. "We've been doing the camps now for over twenty years, and we're at the point now where we've seen kids who started off in drama camp who are now professionals in the performing arts in New York City and all over the country," Myers proudly shares. "Who knows if they would have gone on that path if they hadn't been introduced to it, you know, here in Piscataquis County. Which is just wonderful."Expanding Reach, Empowering Communities
