Franklin, a 20-time Grammy winner, performed a vibrant medley of his hits, including "Stomp" and "Silver and Gold," following a moving tribute by John Legend, Lacrae, PJ Morton, and Tamela Mann, who performed "Melodies From Heaven," "He's Able," and "Lean on Me." R&B group Flo honored Brandy with renditions of "The Boy Is Mine," joined by Coco Jones's "Full Moon" and Kehlani's "I Wanna Be Down." Brandy, deeply moved, shared her humility and honor at being recognized as an icon, reflecting on how this recognition and her recent tour with Monica had rekindled a passion she thought was lost, affirming her continued presence and unlimited opportunities in music.
