For an impressive three decades, WTOV9 has taken great pride in collaborating with The Salvation Army on their Coats for Kids initiative. This partnership aims to raise funds, enabling children in need to acquire their very own brand-new coat. The impact of this endeavor has been truly remarkable.

Empowering Kids with Warmth and Confidence

Impact on Families

The Salvation Army's Jodi Keller emphasizes the significant impact of Coats for Kids. Families look forward to this annual event as it provides them with the means to ensure their children have a warm coat. It has become a cherished tradition that brings hope and comfort to those in need. "Each year, seeing the smiles on the children's faces when they receive a new coat is truly priceless," Keller says.

Corps Officer's Perspective

Eric Roberts, the corps officer at the Weirton Salvation Army, joined the ministry in June and has witnessed firsthand the great influence of Coats for Kids on the community. "I have heard countless stories of how this program has made a difference in people's lives. It's amazing to hear them say, `I remember you helping me out for Coats for Kids.' It shows the lasting impact we can have," Roberts shares.

Corporate Support

Cedar One Group is now stepping in to join this noble mission. Owner Joe Luckino believes that every child deserves a coat. "You never want to see a kid without a coat. It's a basic necessity that every child should have. By partnering with The Salvation Army, we can help those in need and give them a little boost of confidence. Not only does it keep them warm, but it also allows them to face the world with a bit more self-assurance," Luckino explains.
