The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has made a significant mark with 23 student-athletes named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men’s Tennis Team. Selected by College Sports Communicators, this recognition honors both athletic and academic excellence. The announcement highlights top student-athletes from various institutions within the CCIW who have demonstrated remarkable performance on the court and in their studies. Those honored may advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with finalists denoted by an asterisk. The final selections for first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 4.
Institutions like Augustana, Carroll, Carthage, Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin, North Central, and Wheaton showcased their talent through selected students. Among these, Arthur Hermange from Augustana and Adrian Gomez from Carroll are standout examples marked for further consideration. These athletes not only excelled in tennis but also maintained impressive academic records, reflecting the CCIW's commitment to fostering well-rounded individuals.
Each institution contributed unique talents to the team. For instance, Augustana's Santiago Diaz joined Hermange and Timothee Philip as representatives. Similarly, Carroll University sent forward Adrian Gomez and Andrew LaBelle. At Carthage College, Cyriac Cayuela, Myles Krzewinski, and Francisco Silveira were chosen, demonstrating the college's strong academic and athletic programs. Across the board, each school emphasized its dedication to nurturing both intellectual and physical prowess among its students.
Looking ahead, the focus remains on celebrating these achievements while preparing for national recognition. The process involves advancing eligible candidates to the national ballot, where they will be voted on by CSC members. This step ensures that the most deserving athletes receive acknowledgment at a broader level. As anticipation builds for the June 4 announcement, all eyes remain on how many CCIW representatives will secure spots among the esteemed Academic All-America® honorees.
As the CCIW continues to foster excellence across its member institutions, the inclusion of so many talented individuals on the Academic All-District® Team serves as a testament to the conference's success. With ongoing support from platforms such as Bluesky, X, Instagram, and Facebook, the CCIW maintains visibility and engagement within the collegiate sports community. Founded in 1946, the CCIW's enduring influence is evident through its ability to consistently produce high-caliber student-athletes year after year.
