A high-speed pursuit by state troopers culminated in a collision involving two vehicles on Wednesday evening, leaving four individuals injured. The incident began when a 2016 Honda was stopped for multiple traffic violations, including tampered license plates. Upon being approached by law enforcement, the driver of the Honda chose to flee rather than comply with the stop request. This decision set off a chain of events that would soon result in a serious accident.

The chase concluded at the intersection of Northcliffe Road and South Midler Avenue, where the fleeing Honda collided with a 2015 Chevrolet. Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find several victims requiring immediate medical attention. Among those involved, the front passenger of the Honda was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be assisted out. Both the driver of the Honda and the front passenger sustained injuries necessitating hospitalization. Meanwhile, the occupants of the Chevrolet also suffered potential neck injuries and were transported to Upstate University Hospital for evaluation.

Law enforcement officials promptly took action against those responsible. The driver of the Honda, Najhaliek S. Booker, faced multiple charges including possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment, fleeing from a police officer, and criminal mischief. Booker remains under custody at the hospital. Additionally, both passengers of the Honda, Bryant L. Brown and Jade A. Allen, were charged with possession of stolen property and controlled substances. This incident underscores the critical importance of adhering to traffic laws and cooperating with law enforcement to prevent such dangerous situations from occurring.
