Capcom has officially concluded the submission phase for its eagerly anticipated Robot Master Design Contest, a key promotional event for the upcoming title, Mega Man: Dual Override. Launched at the end of last year, the competition invited fans to contribute their creative visions for a unique Robot Master, specifically requiring a 'giant suction arm' design, building upon a provided foundational template.
Following the close of submissions on January 1, 2026, Capcom extended its appreciation to the participants for their outstanding contributions. The next stage involves an internal review process, where the development team will meticulously evaluate the entries to select a shortlist of 20 designs. Subsequently, the power will shift to the community, as fans will be invited to cast their votes for their top six favorites through the CAPCOM ID platform. This voting phase is set to commence later this month, with an exclusive in-game icon offered as a reward for participation.
Once the top six designs are determined by public vote, Capcom will make the final decision, choosing one ultimate winner. This grand prize-winning design will be officially incorporated into Mega Man: Dual Override, solidifying the creator's place in the game's legacy. Additionally, six "Excellence Awards" will be granted, with recipients having their names featured in the game's credits. This initiative not only engages the fan base but also enriches the game's creative development, highlighting the vibrant community spirit surrounding the Mega Man franchise.
This innovative approach to game development fosters a strong connection between creators and their audience, demonstrating that collaborative efforts can lead to truly unique and engaging experiences. By inviting fans to directly contribute to the game's world, Capcom not only taps into a vast pool of creativity but also builds anticipation and a deeper sense of ownership among its dedicated community. Such initiatives embody the positive and forward-thinking spirit that drives the gaming industry.
